Zach "Kaz" Church is one of the many crewbots, builders and drivers working at BattleBots: Destruct-A-Thon. He typically goes by the name Kaz, and is known on site as 'Kaos Kaz'.
Kaz works on a large number of the bots with a primary focus on Tazbot and secondary on HyperShock. He also worked closely with Ricky Willems on getting the Mammoth ShowBots ready for their debut shows. When not working on robots, Kaz can be seen pushing them into the BattleBox as well as cleaning up the arena. Kaz also is a fill-in driver. Often driving many of the bots including HyperShock.
In February 2024, Kaz was asked to drive Traves T. during one one of their Proving Ground fights against Apex, which Traves T. was able to win by knockout. Kaz has also been pulled into Vegas Combat Robotics to be part of JackPot.
Kaz can often been seen before and after the show talking with guests and promoting the sport of combat robotics in the smaller weight classes.
Outside BattleBots[]
When Kaz is not working on ShowBots or JackPot, he competes with his own robot Off Beat with his teammates. He also participates in other combat sports and RC hobbies.
Kaz also served as a stand-in commentator for a 2024 Southern California Attack Robotics event. As well as assiting with events With SCAR, UCR, and VCR.
