X-Assassination (pronounced Cross Assassination) and later known as Russian, was a 15lb robot built by Ransom Everglades Robotics which competed at BattleBots IQ 2010.

It was a box-shaped, two-wheel drive robot with no active weaponry, and its drive wheels were slightly offset from one another. X-Assassination's only recorded fight came against Humdinger 2, which it lost. It is unknown whether X-Assassination fought again during the event.

X-Assassination was named Russian for the 2011 event, but it did not compete for unknown reasons.

Outside BattleBots[]

The robot underwent numerous name changes over a career which went far beyond its single BattleBots IQ competition. One of these was La Caja, which translates from Spanish as 'the box' and references its square shape. According to Ransom Everglades alumni and Team HyperShock member Kyle Awner, the robot retired with a winning record.[1]

Humdinger 2 watches on as X-Assassination is stuck.

X-Assassination's full fight scheduled for the 2010 event is unknown. However, it fought Humdinger 2 at some stage in the Mini Class division bracket.[2] As Humdinger 2 got its primary weapon up to speed, X-Assassination turned sharply into the wall before reversing into its opponent. Humdinger 2 managed to peel up the top panel of the Ransom Everglades robot before throwing it into the air numerous times. X-Assassination was then cornered, allowing Humdinger 2 to tear its side panel away. As X-Assassination fell, it landed against the arena wall. With Humdinger 2 encouraged to land one final hit, the spinner freed its opponent with its weapon, but managed to tear a battery out, resulting in a tap-out. Humdinger 2 took the win as X-Assassination suffered a brutal loss.
