WhirlWind was a middleweight robot built by Team Poison Fists which competed in BattleBots IQ 2002 and 2004 as well as the final season of Comedy Central BattleBots.
It was an invertible, box-shaped robot made largely from 7075-T651 aluminum and half-inch thick 'Ti-6Al-4V' titanium.[1] WhirlWind was armed with an angled static thwacking hammer and two rear spikes. It did not perform well in competition, winning one battle before losing to Wee Willy Wedgy. In its debut tournament, WhirlWind won the Best Engineering Award. It also performed well in battle finishing with a positive overall record. WhirlWind is also known to have competed in BattleBots IQ 2004, but fights other than its loss to Goliath are unknown.
It's builders previously competed in Season 3.0 with the much more successful lightweight The Archduke.
