For the robot from Team Fast Electric Robots which debuted in World Championship III, see Whiplash.

Whiplash is one of twelve ShowBots built for and appearing at BattleBots: Destruct-A-Thon, the first BattleBots live event of its kind.

The ShowBot is functionally identical to versions of the Vasquez family's bot which have fought in recent World Championships, sporting the same lifter and disk spinner combination. Its main differences concern the lack of Meggitt sponsors, limited protection for the lifting mechanism and stronger mounting for its front wedges. Rather than the Brazil wheels seen on its competitive counterpart from World Championship V onward, the Whiplash ShowBot uses off-the-shelf wheels with neon yellow hubs.

As with all other ShowBots, Whiplash is standardized to use OYES switches made by Team End Game, as well as lithium iron phosphate batteries as opposed to lithium polymer batteries to reduce the risk of hazardous fires during shows.[1] Although its weight is not known, the Whiplash ShowBots are likely heavier than the 250lb weight limit enforced by BattleBots production for their televised World Championships.

For the very first Destruct-A-Thon event, Matt and Jason Vasquez were not present, handing over controls to their parents, Jeff and Debbie Vasquez. In more recent shows, Whiplash has been operated by hired crew members.

Whiplash was given a stars and stripes livery for the Independence Day live show on July 4, 2025.
