Venicearena

"Surf's up and so are both the bots and the competitors for some top action. Just beware that sand gets everywhere!!"
— In-game description

Venice Beach is a fictional arena which features in the cancelled BattleBots video game for PlayStation 2 and GameCube. It is one of the variations of the classic BattleBox arena found in the game.

As the name suggests, the arena is hosted in the middle of Venice Beach in Los Angeles, California. Venice was founded as a seaside resort town in 1905 originally designed to resemble the Italian city of the same name.

Outside of the palm trees and buildings in the distance, there are no unique beach-themed features or hazards in this arena. It is a square, gray arena with low walls, several of which have decorative gears embedded into them, surrounded by sand. The centre of the arena features the classic BattleBots logo, much like the original BattleBox. However, it lacks the killsaws, screws or pulverizers present in the real-life arena.

Trivia[]

  • Venice Beach's inclusion in this game predates its cameos in the Grand Theft Auto series of games, where it appeared under the names "Verona Beach" in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Venucci Beach in Grand Theft Auto V.
