Everyone likes top ten lists right? Well these ten bots are robots I feel had serious potential. But through either bad matchups, or technical problems fell short.

1. Juggerbot

2. The Orlando Commando

3. Hworf

4. Botulism

The specs were impressive, a sleek Middleweight robot armed armored in space grade titanium with a nasty looking spinning dome, low side skirts to prevent flippers from getting underneath, a cornucopia of interchangable pneumatic rear weapons which included an axe, a clamp, and a lifting tail. The lifting tail in particular could be completely autonomous via a LIDAR type system, or operated manually, something which would not be seen until over a decade later with the debut of Chomp in the reboot.

Sadly technical issues, and bad draws would keep it from living up to it's full potential. In it's first season Botulism had technical issues owing to it's complexity, and was forced to forfeit its only fight against Machiavelli. Then in it's second season, it displayed excellent control against Son of Bob to eke out a split decision, but was then unfortunate to draw Captain Insane-O, and lost 28-17, and never returned. This draw would be even more unfortunate when you consider the bracket path.

You see had Botulism beat Captain Insane-O, it would have faced Short Order Chef which it likely would have handily beat, and that would ultimately put it up against T-Minus, which it would stand no chance against... Yeah, bad bracket draw indeed. Unfortunately Botulism would not return for Season 5.0, so we never truly got to see what it was capable of aside from a fewall too brief glimmers in 4.0.
