Tower of Power was a middleweight robot which competed in Season 3.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.

It was a rectangular shaped, six-wheel drive robot armed with an incredibly tall, seven-foot forklift, which could allegedly lift a robot the entire seven-foot distance. The idea was to lift its opponent off the ground and do a fast stop, which would body slam the other robot into the floor.[1] It was infamous for being the tallest robot to ever compete in BattleBots.

Parts of Tower of Power were delayed in being shipped to Treasure Island so Haeg wound up finishing the robot in his pit with the help of Derek Young. However it did not perform well in competition, losing its only match to Gungnire.

Builder also built the lightweight Paranoid Android which competed in the Long Beach 1999 competition. Tower of Power’s chassis was also based on Paranoid Android. Haeg planned using his other robot Hamerschlag, as the base, but wound up changing.[1] After Season 3.0, Tower of Power was retired and Dan Haeg joined Team QuestorBotics and Firestorm for Season 5.0.

Season 3.0[]

Tower of Power vs. Gungnire

Tower of Power's first match in the preliminary rounds was against the high school-built Gungnire. Due to the shipping problems with Tower of Power, it wound up running on 18V batteries as opposed to its planned24V, which made it run much slower, putting it at a slight disadvantage. This power reduction also meant Tower of Power struggled to flip Gungnire.[1] Tower of Power would lose the match on a close 23-22 judges' decision, and was eliminated from the competition without ever having a televised fight.
