The Prosecutor is a lightweight competitor built by Team Mechanicus which competed in Season 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots. It also competed under the same name at the 2004 NPC Charity Open event, sanctioned by BattleBots.
It is a smaller version of the team's superheavyweight, The Judge, sporting the same weaponry but with significant design changes. It boasted a lightweight magnesium chassis with welded titanium sheets serving as armor. The robot's drive system consisted of four separate modules, each containing an electric model airplane engine, motor controller, radio receiver, microcontroller and battery pack, adding redundancy unlike many other robots in the field. The Prosecutor's pneumatic hammer was also powered by a 4500psi paintball air tank.
- "The hammer arm is attached to a sprocket. A chain drives the sprocket. The ends of the chain are attached to the lower and upper air pistons. To swing the hammer the lower chamber is filled, to retract the hammer the upper chamber is filled. The hammer has an auto targeting mode via an ultrasonic sensor that strikes when an enemy robot is in optimal range. If flipped over the robot can self right using the hammer."
