The Brainsters of Triskellian was a superheavyweight robot built by Ryan Engineering which competed in Season 3.0 and 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.

It was originally a two-wheeled black robot with a wide and short frame and a stabilizing wheel on the back. Towards the back of The Brainsters of Triskellian was a roughly hexagonal compartment which stored its vital components along with three red, blue, and green brain models inside a clear dome at the top, and armed with a spinning bar at the bottom of the frame. Despite picking up a win in the preliminary rounds, it was then defeated by Hammertime and did not advance to the televised rounds.

For Season 5.0, The Brainsters of Triskellian was completely rebuilt as a bare metal robot with sloped sides and a triangular front, but kept its spinning bar for weaponry. The Brainsters of Triskellian lost its only fight in Season 5.0 by forfeit, and was eliminated without fighting.

The name was likely a misspelt pun of the Star Trek episode titled The Gamesters of Triskelion, strengthened by the team also dressing in Star Trek costumes to play into the robot's theme. The team also entered Simon Bar Spinister into Season 5.0, which also lost its only fight.

Trivia[]

  • As implied in the explanation of the pun, the "Triskellian" word was misspelled, as the correct spelling has one less L and an O in the place of the A. It's unclear whether or not it's intentional.
