Outside BattleBots[]
The team were formed back in 2001, and have competed in RoboGames since 2010 with Jubileu and since 2012 with Federal M.T., a lightweight version of Black Dragon named partially after Federal University, the Itajubá-based university where Team Uai!rrior originated. The team also fight with a middleweight called General which debuted in 2013.
Outside of US events, Team Uai!rrior are one of the most established teams in Brazil, along with Team RioBotz, having built robots from 150g called Kowalski and Recruta right up to the 250lb Black Dragon.[1] The team not only build combat robots, but also autonomous robots, sumobots and Hockey-Pro competitors too.
The team signed up for RoboGames 2023 with Banguela, a rebranded Black Dragon, as well as with Federal M.T. and General in the 60lb and 120lb class respectively. However, Banguela would not compete. General lost its opening battle to Copyright Infringement. before losing by judges' decision to Who's Your Daddy Now?, piloted by the Yeh family. By contrast, Federal M.T. won its first fight and then beat Max-Q on a 17-16 judges' decision, captained by Claw Viper captain Kevin Milczewski. It picked up a third consecutive win over Cornholio and defeated Max-Q for a second time in the lightweight final to win gold for Team Uai!rrior.
Team Uai!rrior registered for RoboGames 2024 with Black Dragon, 30lber Jubileu and 12lb robot Xupa-Cabra. In the heavyweight bracket, Black Dragon disposed of Double Trouble in Round 1 before picking up a second win over Terrortops in Round 2. Team Uai!rrior's fortune turned, however, as it lost a wheel against BlackJack and suffered damage to its primary weapon. The team were unable to repair this in time for its loser's bracket battle Ziggy Jr. and lost by judges' decision, confirming its elimination from the heavyweight bracket. Federal M.T. lost its opening battle against Come to Mama, then beat El Tortuga by knockout after receiving a bye through the first round of the loser's bracket. It then defeated Little Kahuna before getting the better of Mutually Assured Destruction. After defeating Herr Gepoünden, Federal M.T. fought Rick Russ and Twister but lost in the loser's bracket finals. In the 30lb Round Robin, Jubileu went unbeaten in its six matches, chalking up wins over Dragon Hawk, Ray Billings' Disinformation, Ka-Blooey Tango, Pepe Silvia and multibot Wedge 9 and Wedge 10 en route to winning the division. 12lber Xupa-Cabra defeated Solaris and Dark Sabre but lost out to Full Court. Entering the loser's bracket in Round 5, Xupra-Cabra lost to Son of Kram and was eliminated.
They will also join forces with Team RioBotz as they enter the Russian heavyweight event Bitva Robotov as Team Brazil.[2]
