Team Midnight Invention are an active team from Dallas, Texas who fought in the 2005 Rochester R3 BattleBots event with Tetracide. They returned in 2021 for World Championship VI with their heavyweight entry Switchback, as well as World Championship VII.
Following a modest season which saw Switchback pick up two wins from five fights, the team returned for World Championship VII and picked up a surprise 3-1 Fight Night record with their redesigned robot. This put Team Midnight Invention into the Top 32 for the first time, but this was where they fell at the hands of Malice.
The Switchback team featured in the second episode of Bot Whisperings, which saw Pete Abrahamson interview Greg Needel about the evolution of their robot from 2021 to 2022.
