Not to be confused with the similarly-named Team Malice.

Team Malicious, originally known as Team Rupedog, are a retired team which competed in four seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots, as well as both the Long Beach and Las Vegas events which preceded it.

Led by Daniel Rupertson, Team Malicious were billed as residing in San Diego, California. The team fought in all four weight divisions, best known for their superheavyweights Grendel and Revision Z.

Team member Michael Bastoni would also compete in BattleBots IQ events and become a mentor for the Over Easy team which applied for World Championship II in 2016 but withdrew to instead compete at RoboGames.

Daniel Rupert[]

Team captain Daniel Rupert was one of only two credited members of Team Malicious present for all six BattleBots events they competed in. Rupert was a math and engineering teacher at the Preuss School UCSD[1][2] at the time of the Rochester R3 event, and mentored his high school students in building BattleBots machines. He has also mentored Team 812 within FIRST Robotics competitions.
