Team Horizon are an active BattleBots team who debuted in World Championship VII with their robot of the same name.

The team includes several members of Robotic Death Company from the 2021 season, who assisted in the maintenance of Gigabyte and Cobalt following Horizon's initial rejection. Under the name Three Point Robotics, the team also teased a second BattleBots entry named Globetrotter, a 500lb robot with unique locomotion based on Dylan McKenzie's Orb. However, this was later revealed to be an April Fools joke, and the team persisted with Horizon.

Team Horizon's debut season saw them struggle against Team Shreddit and SHREDDIT BRO!, before being overwhelmed by the returning Monsoon. Horizon picked up its first win in an upset versus Shatter!, but fell to Triton in its fourth and final main season battle. Horizon was scheduled to return for BattleBots: Champions II, but the team opted to pull out with concerns over a lack of spare parts for the single-elimination tournament.

Various members of the team returned for BattleBots Proving Ground in June 2023 as part of the live show, BattleBots: Destruct-A-Thon. They were joined by Victoria Tomozei of Terrortops and previously, Axolotl. There, Horizon fought DOOM and finished the weekend with a 1-1 record.

In August 2024, the team announced their second heavyweight robot - Calypso.[1]

Outside BattleBots[]

Prior to BattleBots filming, Team Horizon entered the robot, minus its unique weaponry, into the 2022 Robotica event under the name Rizon.

There, it picked up two wins against robots from Team WAR? EZ! and Wild Side Robotics.

Joshua Kong[]

Captain of Horizon, Joshua Kong also operates Skyline, the 12lb proof of concept for Horizon which has entered multiple National Havoc Robot League competitions and other local events before submitting a BattleBots application. He also designed Project Aegis, Altair, Category 5 and Jackpot (the latter two unrelated to more well-known robots of the same name).

In February 2023, he showcased a 1lb build designed to resemble the front end of HyperShock and was fittingly named Shook.

Alon Belkin Axolotl 2020

Alon Belkin[]

Alon Belkin's prior BattleBots experience came as captain of the 2020 season rookies Uh-Oh Robotics and Axolotl, followed by a year with Robotic Death Company.

Outside BattleBots, he formed part of the team behind Bullion which entered the heavyweight division of RoboGames 2023. By day, he teaches educational LEGO robotics to younger children.

Kyle Loyola[]

Horizon's dedicated driver, Kyle Loyola previously designed and built the minibot Time Line, which accompanied Valkyrie and Chronos during several fights during the 2019 season. The minibot was repainted and repurposed to accompany Horizon, now named Sunrise. Kyle Loyola had over five years of experience in driving combat robots leading up to World Championship VII, having fought in events such as RoboGames and NHRL in the past under Team Logic404.

Robots entered by Kyle Loyola include Mr. Roomba, Micro Roomba, Angry Paperweight and Angry Paper Shredder, as well as multibot Double Trouble and plastic antweights named Flat Spin and Neck Strain, the latter being heavily inspired by Whiplash.

Dylan McKenzie[]

Dylan McKenzie is the lead machinist for Horizon and was responsible for manufacturing many of its parts, including the 5ft long overhead bar. He designed and built Orb, a 3lb robot which inspired the team's April Fools Day submission, Globetrotter, as well as a self-spinning design reminiscent of Beyblade toys called UFO, or Unidentified Fighting Object.

Alex Price[]

Alex Price runs the Team Horizon social media accounts, and is one of only a few transfemale competitors in BattleBots history, following Lilith Specht of Sporkinok. She captains team good team and operates their fairyweight briklit, antweights SPOOPS! and GIANT HORSE CONCH, as well as beetleweights Lil Brudder and BRIK. In January 2023, she qualified for the National Havoc Robot League finals alongside friend of the team Zach Church-Dellinger and their robot, Off Beat.

On the Team Horizon YouTube channel, she hosts 'The Sundown Rundown', a series of videos elaborating on Horizon's BattleBots fights.

Peter & Alicia Garnache[]

Dallas-based brother and sister Peter and Alicia Garnache were present for both Horizon's initial application as well as World Championship VII in 2022. Alicia Garnache was described as 'the consultant' in Team Horizon's 2022 application video and she competes in the National Havoc Robot League with her robot, Frustration. She joined the team with little combat robot experience, but leads the team's marketing, social media and helped to film their application video, which is where she met the rest of the team in person for the first time. She joined her partner, Team Shreddit and SHREDDIT BRO! captain Evan Arias, in 2023.

Peter Garnache captains the team Repeat Robotics, who compete with a multitude of smaller robots across the United States and also sell various parts and kits. One of which is a 3lb vertical spinner called Ablation, which fought Aren Hill's Shifty during the May 2022 NHRL event. Other 3lb robots of his include Elation, Abomination and Attraction. He officially joined Team Malice in 2023.
