Consisting of various members of the Vasquez family, the team has fought in both eras of the show with a variety of bots spanning three weight divisions. They are best known for their heavyweight entry Whiplash, which finished as the runner-up in World Championship V, though they also competed in the ABC seasons with Splatter and debuted Defender in the 2021 season.

The Vasquez family were invited to compete in the June 2022 re:MARS all:STARS event with Whiplash, but it fell in the first round of the mini tournament to Aren Hill and Blip. The team entered both Whiplash and Defender into BattleBots: Champions I, but neither bot managed to win their respective Sin City Slugfest brackets, keeping them both from the Golden Bolt Tournament.

Matt Vasquez confirmed the team's intention to compete in World Championship VII in a September 2022 episode of RoboCast.[1] The team later inferred their acceptance in announcing new sponsors for the competition, something which was later officially confirmed by BattleBots themselves.

Whiplash won its Sin City Slugfest bracket, but was beaten in the Golden Bolt tournament by JackPot.

Outside of BattleBots, the team have prior success in US events in smaller weight classes and at 220lb heavyweight level in RoboGames and other such competitions. The team also participated in the second season of TLC's Robotica with Deb Bot.

Having competed in several RoboGames events previously with early iterations of Whiplash and their middleweight, Doom On You!, Team Fast Electric Robots returned for RoboGames 2023 with Doom on You!, as well as 250lb entries Whomper and King Crab, the latter being a repurposed Defender built with help from MadCatter driver Calvin Iba.

Although neither the 250lb Whomper nor King Crab would not return for RoboGames 2024, the Vasquez brothers competed with 12lb Whomper and Sidewalk Slammer, as well as bringing H.A.N.D. - a version of Defender with four 'fingers' and a 'thumb' built for the art competitions. Both 12lbers lost their first fights in the bracket, with Whomper losing to Son of Kram and Sidewalk Slammer falling to Full Court. Whomper had to beat Butcher in Round 1 of the loser's bracket, but Sidewalk Slammer got a bye to Round 2 where he pair then met. Whomper eliminated Sidewalk Slammer before beating Dark Sabre, but was eliminated itself in a rematch against Son of Kram.
