Team Bad Ideas, also known as Team Claw Viper, are an active BattleBots team who made their debut in the World Championship V with their heavyweight, Claw Viper.
The Seattle-based team are led by Kevin Milczewski, and after modest finishes in their first two seasons, finished with a career-best 3-1 record in World Championship VII. However, they fell in the Round of 32 to MadCatter.
Following an impressive set of fights against Minotaur during Proving Ground, Team Bad Ideas will return for BattleBots FaceOffs in December 2024.
Outside BattleBots[]
The team have competed in numerous live events over the years, including Robot Ruckus in Orlando, Florida. Claw Viper itself has competed under the name Siege Breaker, with the BattleBots name originally being leant to a 12lb hobbyweight.
Several smaller robots include 1lb entries Schwifty and Cronenberg Krombopulous, 3lb eggbeater drum spinner Scary Terry and 150g fairyweight Zeep.
In 2023, Kevin Milczewski's team entered the RoboGames lightweight division with a four-wheel drive rambot called Max-Q. Under the team name The Bot Brothers, Max-Q won its Round 1 battle before losing to Federal M.T., entered by Team Uai!rrior. Max-Q returned in the losers' bracket to defeat multibot KickFlip, one half of which was driven by Leanne Cushing, and then beating Bad Dog. After getting the better of Team Wetware and Cornholio, Max-Q advanced to the lightweight finals before losing again to Federal M.T., sealing a silver medal for the team.
