Super Collider was a heavyweight robot built by Team Robot Gizmo Builders which competed in the final season of Comedy Central BattleBots.

It was an invertible, four-wheeled robot made primarily from aluminum and armored in 2mm thick titanium, Super Collider was armed with a 3ft long, 20lb horizontal bar spinner at the front, made from hardened steel and powered by a four-horsepower motor. According to the team, it could spin at up to 2000rpm and it had weight-saving holes machined along the length of the bar. To protect from attacks, Super Collider sported a rear wedge and hinged skirts on the sides. It performed decently as a rookie, reaching the final preliminary round before being defeated by Warhead.

Super Collider was originally going to be named Musashi, but that name was taken already.

In 2020, Super Collider was put up for sale on eBay by the builder, with its internals removed, leaving the frame, spinner, and drivetrain. It was purchased by YouTube personality and BattleBots fan Mystrsyko2, who planned to restore it to working condition.[1] An assessment by its new owner revealed that Super Collider's pointed front end had a hole which went through three layers of different metals, and the weapon support was bent in such a way that its spinning bar could not spin up without striking its own body. Furthermore, Super Collider had numerous gouges and dents on one of its sides as well as a big gouge on the back surrounded by more dents, likely caused by Warhead.[2]

Super Collider's first match came in the preliminary rounds against Der BiterBot. After getting its blade under Der BiterBot multiple times, Der BiterBot stopped moving and was counted out. Super Collider won by KO and advanced to the next preliminary round.

Super Collider vs. Circuit Breaker (Forfeit)

Here, it was due to face Circuit Breaker. However, Team Circuit Breaker were banned from the event due to security and safety violations and so Circuit Breaker was forced to forfeit. Super Collider won by default and advanced to the final preliminary round.

Super Collider vs. Warhead

One step from the televised rounds, Super Collider took on an experienced team with their newest robot, Warhead. When the match began, Super Collider spun up its weapon and turned to the right to dodge Warhead's charge and attack at an angle. However, due to a driving error, Super Collider oversteered 180 degrees with its front facing the spikestrip. With Super Collider's weapon pointed the wrong way, Warhead took full advantage, pushing its opponent from the rear and driving it into the spikestrip. Likely due to the position of the weapon, Super Collider slid right on top of the spikestrip upon contact, raising three of its four wheels off the ground and rendering it stuck. Refusing to let its opponent back into the fight, Warhead moved in and struck the remaining wheel touching the floor with its dome, disabling the wheel and leaving Super Collider down for the count. Warhead won by KO, eliminating Super Collider from the tournament.[3]
