Subject to Change Without Reason was a middleweight robot built by Randy Eubanks which competed in the Seasons 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots.
It was a silver robot which was originally armed with a pickaxe, which its team called a "flying axe". This was later removed, however, for Season 2.0. For Season 3.0, it was painted red and two small ramming spikes were placed on the top, removing its ability to run inverted fully due to the rendering spikes keeping the front wheels in the air. It was also entered into Season 4.0 but dropped out for unknown reasons.[1]
Subject to Change Without Reason performed decently in BattleBots, reaching the televised rounds in every season it competed, but never went further than the Round of 16. It was then replaced by Goldie, which participated in just one season.

Subject to Change Without Reason vs. Pressure Drop Subject to Change Without Reason's first match of the season was against Pressure Drop. The walkerbot slowly moved out of its square and Subject to Change Without Reason started slamming into Pressure Drop. Pressure Drop attempted to hit Subject to Change Without Reason with its pickaxe, but missed. Despite this, the Vantec speed controller in Randy Eubanks' bot had suffered damage and it stopped moving. Pressure Drop started walking slowly towards Subject to Change Without Reason, but when the buzzer sounded, Derek Young ignored the buzzer, walked Pressure Drop into position, and fired Pressure Drop's weapon twice, the latter of which struck Subject to Change Without Reason's top. Despite the warning Young received, Pressure Drop advanced to the next round and Subject to Change Without Reason was eliminated from the tournament.

Middleweight Royal Rumble Subject to Change Without Reason returned for the Middleweight Royal Rumble at the end of the tournament. Subject to Change Without Reason started moving around the arena and gets underneath the side of Spin Orbiting Force. Subject to Change Without Reason pushed it around the arena and Spin Orbiting Force escaped. Subject to Change Without Reason was then bumped by Blade Runner and pushed against the spikestrip by Ankle Biter. Subject to Change Without Reason drove away and started moving around the arena again, until it was hit from the front by Hazard. Subject to Change Without Reason got underneath Deadblow momentarily, but Grant Imahara's robot drove off. After attacking Pegleg, Subject to Change Without Reason was moving very slowly and was being pushed by Bad Attitude shortly after. Bad Attitude shoved Subject to Change Without Reason into the side of Hazard and both robots nudged Subject to Change Without Reason next to Pegleg. At this point, Subject to Change Without Reason was losing power and played little part in the remainder of the rumble. The time ran out shortly after and Hazard was declared the winner. |

Subject to Change Without Reason vs. Instigator Returning for Season 2.0, Subject to Change Without Reason's first match came against Instigator. Subject to Change Without Reason was too low for Instigator's blade, so this quickly resorted to a pushing and shoving match. The time ran out and Subject to Change Without Reason won a 34-11 judges' decision. |
Subject to Change Without Reason vs. The Master This win put Subject to Change Without Reason to the Round of 16, where it faced The Master. The Master hits Subject to Change Without Reason's front wedge immediately and knocked off one of its own caster wheels. A couple more hits from The Master and the gas-powered saw stopped moving. Subject to Change Without Reason continues charging at The Master and The Master started using its inactive saw as a hammer. The Master started hitting Subject to Change Without Reason and both robots were driving close to the killsaws, with The Master driving over Subject to Change Without Reason immediately. The Master kept hitting Subject to Change Without Reason with its inactive saw and Subject to Change Without Reason drove itself on the killsaws in effort to avoid The Master. Subject to Change Without Reason vs. Complete Control Due to its seeding, Subject to Change Without Reason was allowed to skip the preliminary rounds of Season 3.0, where it faced Derek Young again and his new robot from Season 2.0, Complete Control. Subject to Change Without Reason got off to a good start, getting underneath Complete Control, driving it to the ramrods and then the killsaws, which sent Complete Control flying. Subject to Change Without Reason got underneath Complete Control again, driving it to the screws, until it was finally caught by the clamping arm of Complete Control, lifting Subject to Change Without Reason by its corner. Subject to Change Without Reason was then driven to the killsaws, damaging its wedge and preventing all but one of its drive wheels from touching the floor. Complete Control then finally caught Subject to Change Without Reason where it was driven to the killsaws, which did not operate for some reason, then to the pulverizer and finally flipping Subject to Change Without Reason on its back.
