Stop-Bot, also stylized StopBot and Stop Bot, was a middleweight robot, built by Plymouth South High School students under the name Stop....Bot, which competed in BattleBots IQ 2003, 2004 and the BattleBots Rochester R3 event in 2005.

It was an octagon-shaped robot with stop sign graphics on the top, hence its name. Stop-Bot was armed with an overhead spinning bar. Its best performance came in the 2005 competition, reaching the semi-finals of the Rochester competition before ultimately losing to SubZero.

Stop-Bot returned for the 2004 event. Its first was a long robot with a hinged front wedge and rounded back.[2] Stop-Bot won this fight, but not without suffering damage to its bar.

Stop-Bot vs. The Little Ripper

Stop-Bot next faced The Little Ripper, with reinforcements made to its spinning bar.[3] After early attacks saw Stop-Bot tear a strip of metal away from Little Ripper's flank, Stop-Bot's opponent stopped moving, meaning Stop-Bot took the win by knockout.

Stop-Bot now took on an unidentified flipper robot.[4] Stop-Bot won this fight too after disabling a side of its drive, and continued on.

Stop-Bot also took on D-Monic IV, where it was defeated.[5] Stop-Bot did not reach the finals, meaning it lost twice due to the nature of the event's double elimination format.

Rochester R3[]

After receiving a bye in the first round Stop-Bot's first opponent was Chaos Toaster. This was a rather uneventful fight, as Stop-Bot's blade was too high to do any damage to its opponent, it was simply shoved around the BattleBox by Chaos Toaster until the thwackbot broke down with under a minute left on the clock and was counted out, giving Stop-Bot the win by knockout in 2 minutes, 22 seconds.

This stroke of luck put Stop-Bot into the next round where it faced God's Wrath. Stop-Bot immediately collided with God's Wrath, shredding its front and peeling back more metal from its side. However, this also stopped Stop-Bot's weapon, and God's Wrath held it for a while before the overhead spinner got away. Once Stop-Bot got away, it spun up to full speed, and collided with God's Wrath causing more damage. God's Wrath then tried to push Stop-Bot, however it was too badly damaged at this point to do anything, and Stop-Bot tore apart the front of God's Wrath even more. God's Wrath then started running away, and Stop-Bot gave chase, catching up with God's Wrath, Stop-Bot attacked it again sending parts flying into the ceiling. This attack disabled half of God's Wrath's drive, leaving it to move in circles, this allowed Stop-Bot to come in for another attack, ripping rear wedge panel off of God's Wrath. After driving onto the front of God's Wrath, and being pushed a few inches Stop-Bot came on the attack again and delivered another large blow to God's Wrath. This completely disabled its drive, and mangled it even more causing God's Wrath to tap out.

Stop-Bot vs. Green Wave

Stop-Bot was now in the next round where it faced Green Wave. When the match began, both bots got their bars up to speed and clashed in the middle of the arena, throwing both bots into opposite directions. Unfortunately for Stop-Bot, Green Wave had the better reach, meaning that it was able to bypass Stop-Bot's spinning bar and tear a massive gash on Stop-Bot's chassis. This hit disabled Stop-Bot's drive, but not the weapon, so Green Wave went in for another weapon-to-weapon clash, knocking Stop-Bot closer to the wall and disabling its weapon. After a couple more hits, Stop-Bot was counted out, giving Green Wave the win by KO and sending Stop-Bot to the loser's bracket.

Stop-Bot vs. Chaos Toaster (Forfeit)

As Stop-Bot was one of six robots left in the Middleweight division of the tournament, it was in the quarter-finals where it was scheduled to face Chaos Toaster again. However, Chaos Toaster had technical issues, and was forced to forfeit the match.

This put Stop-Bot into the semi-finals, where it faced SubZero. Unfortunately, despite gaining some extra time from Chaos Toaster's forfeit, the team could not make the repairs needed for Stop-Bot's weapon and drive, and thus was only able to get Stop-Bot back up and running with limited mobility and weapon power. When the match began, Stop-Bot came out and tried to spin up, but it was only able to make a few rotations. Stop-Bot tried to get away, but its drive repeatedly cut in and out, preventing it from escaping. SubZero eventually went in and tried to flip it, but missed. Stop-Bot made a jolt in an attempt to escape, but its drive cut out yet again, and SubZero carried it over to the middle of the arena. At that point, Stop-Bot ceased to function completely, and SubZero capitalized by throwing it out of the arena. This eliminated Stop-Bot from the tournament.
