Speed Bump was a lightweight robot built by Team X-Bots which competed in three seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots as well as the NPC Charity Open in 2004.
It was a robot with a curved body that was armed with a pneumatic sideways-facing lifting arm. At the 2004 NPC Charity Open event, it was a box-shaped robot with a rear-hinged flipper. It was able to reach the lightweight semi-finals in this event.
It also had a middleweight counterpart called Speed Bump XL. Team X-Bots also entered the Season 5.0 heavyweight competition with Speedy.

Speed Bump vs. Mantis Speed Bump's only match was against Mantis. This was mostly a pushing match as neither Mantis or Speed Bump could get underneath each other. Mantis won the fight on a 36-9 judges' decision, which eliminated Speed Bump. |

Speed Bump vs. Crashius Clay Returning for Season 4.0, Speed Bump took on Crashius Clay. Speed Bump's opponent had trouble steering, and both of the robots took turns getting underneath each other, hitting, pushing, and ramming each other into the spikes. Crashius Clay's thwacking attack were largely ineffective but the judges ultimately voted 30-15 in favor of Crashius Clay. |

Speed Bump vs. Manic Aggressive Speed Bump's first opponent was Manic Aggressive. Speed Bump won by TKO, earning its first BattleBots victory and advancing in the tournament. |
Speed Bump vs. LocoMotion (Forfeit) Speed Bump next drew LocoMotion. However, LocoMotion had technical issues and its team were forced to forfeit. Speed Bump won by default and progressed to the next stage. |
Speed Bump vs. Dark Steel Dark Steel was Speed Bump's next opponent. Dark Steel pushed Speed Bump against the arena wall multiple times before the time ran out. Dark Steel won on a 35-10 judges' decision and Speed Bump was eliminated. |

Speed Bump vs. Rotato In the 2004 NPC Charity Open, a revised Speed Bump first took on Rotato. The match started with Rotato spinning up and approaching Speed Bump hitting it once which caused massive damage and buckling to his lifter, then the two robots tentatively circled each other before Rotato charged towards Speed Bump, scratching the side and not really causing much damage before it once again scratched the rear of Speed Bump. Speed Bump approached it, getting hit a few more times before tapping out, meaning it was defeated and now in the loser's bracket. |
Speed Bump vs. Slyder Speed Bump then fought Slyder. Slyder scooped Speed Bump and pinned it against the wall. Upon releasing, Slyder then drove under Speed Bump again but failed to capitalize before releasing. Speed Bump was forced into the pulverizer, before retaliating by scooping Slyder up and placing it against the wall. Slyder was no longer fighting back and was counted out, giving Speed Bump the win by knockout. |
Speed Bump vs. J.R.C.V. Speed Bump's next opponent was J.R.C.V.. as the fight began, J.R.C.V. began pushing Speed Bump around and the two engaged in a pushing match. and Speed Bump clamped J.R.C.V. and rammed it into the wall. J.R.C.V. appeared hurt from this attack as it was no longer mobile. A count began and Speed Bump continued on. |
Speed Bump vs. Backlash Speed Bump's next opponent was the infamous Backlash. The first hit from Backlash's weapon proved enough to knock Speed Bump out cold. Backlash attacked the immobile Speed Bump as it was promptly eliminated at this stage. |
