Son of Bob was a middleweight robot built by Team B.O.B., also known as Russ Robotics, which competed in Season 4.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.
It was a smaller version of the heavyweight version of B.O.B. but armed with a static plow on the opposite end of its spinning bludgeoner. It did not perform well in competition, winning one battle before losing to Botulism. The team also entered heavyweight Deathstar in Season 4.0.
After Season 4.0, Son of Bob changed team and was entered into Season 5.0 as Mr. "D".

Son of Bob vs. Potter's Wheel Son of Bob first faced Potter's Wheel in the early stages of the tournament. Potter's Wheel came out spinning, but Son of Bob got around behind it very skillfully and pushed it into the wall, making an awful ripping sound with its small x-axis spinner. Potter's Wheel's drive was rather weak, and soon it got stuck on the spikes. Son of Bob hit the immobile Potter's Wheel some more as it was counted out. |
Son of Bob vs. Botulism Son of Bob then moved on to fight Botulism. The robots circled each other for position, Botulism unable to catch Son of Bob. It could not catch Son of Bob in its clamp. Son of Bob got a few good pushes and hits, but then Botulism finally managed to get Son of Bob on its clamp and lift it up. Its rear spinner weapon also got some hits and did cosmetic damage to Son of Bob. It got more and more lifts, driving Son of Bob's propeller style y-axis spinner into the ground once. Towards the end, it finally caught Son of Bob and clamped it. The judges then went to work, and gave most of the damage points to Son of Bob, and an equal number of the strategy points to Botulism. Aggression was split in favor of Botulism, who won the 23-22 decision. |
