Not to be confused with the Middleweight robot that entered the 2005 BattleBots Rochester R3 event.
Road Rage was a superheavyweight robot built by Team Crunch, in cooperation with Team KillerBotZ which competed in Season 4.0 and 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots. It was a robot built entirely around a tire with no active weapon. It performed decently in competition, both winning and losing two fights.
Road Rage was built by Jeff Hall and Bill Hubbard, and driven by Bill Hubbard. A pneumatic hammer was planned, but never implemented, and the robot was retired after BattleBots came to a close.
Robot History[]
Season 4.0[]
Road Rage's first ever opponent was Proto-Type 4, also similarly built around a large tire. Proto-type's drill hit the ground as the bot turned, and it stopped after the first hit on Road Rage. The robots pushed each other for a while, and then Proto-type died. Road Rage pushed Proto-type's carcass around some before it was counted out. Road Rage won by KO and advanced to fight Electric Lunch. Electric Lunch won by KO and Road Rage was eliminated from the tournament.
Season 5.0[]
Road Rage's first match was against Tortoise. Road Rage won on a close 23-22 split judges' decision and advanced to the final preliminary round, where it faced Pro-AM. Pro-AM won on a 38-7 judges' decision and Road Rage was eliminated from the tournament again.
