Ring Spinners are a variation of horizontal spinners where a large rotating ring surrounds the exterior of the robot. They share similarities with shell spinners, but with ring spinners, the spinning mass makes up a ring around the circumference as opposed to the entire robot's armor shell.

Ring spinners often make use of several bearings mounted inside the robot, which are connected to motors to spin in place. These bearings make contact with a large ring which is mounted inside of the spinning mass, using friction to spin the outer ring itself. Although many ring spinners utilize bearings, some, such as Chronos, use gears instead. In the case of The Ringmaster, builder Hal Rucker made use of both.

As the spinning mass is purely on the outer circumference of the robot rather than the top as well (as is the case with shell spinners), this means robots armed with ring spinners can be invertible. However, reliability is a common concern with ring spinners as their bearings can become damaged or misaligned from impacts during battle, causing the spinning mechanism to slow down or stop completely. As well as this, in a similar vein to shell spinners, ring spinners are typically vulnerable to attacks when their primary weapon is disabled, as much of the robot's weight and power has to be dedicated to its weaponry.
Ring spinners have been scarce throughout the history of BattleBots, but were seen throughout the show's Comedy Central era and have been seen as recently as BattleBots: Bounty Hunters.
