Rattler 2 was a 15lb robot built by Team Jag which competed in numerous BattleBots IQ competitions between 2007 and 2011.

Inside Rattler 2.

It was a direct successor to the team's original Rattler robot, later known as Rattler 1 to help differentiate both iterations as they would begin to compete simultaneously. Much like its predecessor, Rattler 2 was a four-wheel drive, invertible robot. Unlike the original robot, however, Rattler 2 sported a powered, articulating front wedge and a static, curved scoop at the rear.

Rattler 2's best success came in the 2010 competition, where it placed first overall in the 15lb division.

Team Jag also fought in the Mini Class with a variety of other 15lb builds: Sting WMD (later known as UM Sting 'EM and Mastercam Sting 'EM), Hate to Rotate and TTATT.

Robot History

BattleBots IQ 2007
Rattler 2 vs. ? Rattler 2 debuted in the 2007 competition. Its fights from that year are not known. As it did not place Top 3 for the event, it can be deduced that Rattler 2 suffered two losses at an unknown state in the tournament.
BattleBots IQ 2008
Rattler 2 vs. Silverback Rattler 2 made its return in 2008, where it first faced Silverback.
Rattler 2 vs. Death FE Later in the tournament, Rattler 2 fought Death FE. This fight went the distance and Ratter 2 was declared the winner by judges' decision.
Rattler 2 vs. Shockwave II Rattler 2 now took on Shockwave II. According to documentation, Rattler 2 lost this fight and was formally eliminated.
Rattler 2 vs. eXterminator Rattler 2 also fought eXterminator.

BattleBots IQ 2009
Rattler 2 vs. ? Team Jag and Rattler 2 also fought in the 2009 event. However, its opponents are not known. As in 2007, Rattler 2 did not placed in the Top 3 so lost twice during the event.
BattleBots IQ 2010
Rattler 2 vs. RamRod Rattler 2 pins RamRod in the corner. Rattler 2 also fought in the 2010 competition, and is known to have taken on RamRod. Though RamRod was able to land a few punches with its primary weapon, it was pinned and pushed around the arena by Rattler 2. Team Jag's machine won by knockout after RamRod stopped moving late in the fight.
Rattler 2 vs. La Caja Another of Rattler 2's known fights this year came against La Caja. Just over the halfway mark, La Caja drove into the arena wall and stopped moving. It was declared immobile and Rattler 2 won again by knockout.
Rattler 2 vs. TTATT Rattler 2 faces TTATT. Later in the competition, Rattler 2 took on the team's own TTATT. Both robots survived to a judges' decision, where Rattler 2 was declared victorious.
Rattler 2 vs. Mastercam Sting 'EM At the end of the tournament, Rattler 2's streak of wins saw it reach the Mini Class final. Here, it fought another Team Jag robot in Mastercam Sting 'EM. Often leading with its scoop, Rattler 2 was able to control and pin Mastercam Sting 'EM for much of the fight. Rattler 2 took the win by judges' decision, and won the division outright.
BattleBots IQ 2011
Rattler 2 vs. Rattler 1 Looking to defend its title, Rattler 2 competed in the 2011 BattleBots IQ event - the last to include 15lb robots. At some stage in the tournament, Rattler 2 took on the team's original entry, Rattler 1. The winner of this is not known. The High School division was won by Green Mojito with second and third undocumented, meaning Rattler 2 lost at least once during the event.
