With their headquarters in Singapore, the channel was originally known as RTL CBS Extreme as a collaborative effort of the Luxembourg-based RTL Group and CBS Studios International. This name remained for four years until it was rebranded as Blue Ant Extreme following the January 2018 acquisition by Blue Ant Media.

Upon the channel's next rebranding, ROCK Extreme was available to paying Singtel TV customers. A free preview was made available from September 1-30, 2021, but was subscription only thereafter.

Since December 2022, the channel has been known as Rock Action and had focused primarily on action movies.
