RACC was a lightweight robot built by the Robot Action League (Will Wright and Mike Winter to be precise) that competed at the Long Beach 1999 BattleBots competition. It was a multibot, consisting of two parts: a grey thwackbot with a flexible tail (called Bob Smith which was previously entered in the 1997 US Robot Wars by Will Wright, the builder of Chiabot), and a red robot armed with an overhead spinning bar (this robot was named X11 or possibly Blade Gamera[1]), a continuation of the X series of robots which won the US Robot Wars middleweight championship in 1994). A third antweight robot constructed of servos and foam, named the "Eep" (Emergency escape pod) could also be deployed if one of the two main robots stopped working. At this time, a multibot would only be declared immobilized if half of a robot's moving parts were immobilized, so deploying the Eep would keep the multibot in the competition. However, RACC lost both of its battles and never returned to fight in another BattleBots competition. The Robot Action League also competed in the same tournament with Rasta and Tentoumushi.
RACC stood for "Robot Action Combat Cluster", but the robot was originally going to be named SPAR.
