Punjar was a heavyweight robot built by Ramiro Mallari. It was originally built for the 1996 Robot Wars event, with a flat wedge shape and a spinning chain flail, which lost to Vlad the Impaler, so Ramiro completely rebuilt it for the 1997 Robot Wars Event to be a very boxy shape with a sturdy front scoop and tremendous pushing power. This model ended up being destroyed by Blendo, Punjar participated in the first five BattleBots competitions before retiring after Season 3.0. Mallari's great driving combined with Punjar's pushing power earned them a great number of victories along the way, and Punjar was ranked 4th when it retired.
