Plymouth North High School, also known as Plymouth North or PNHS, is a high school based in Plymouth, Massachusetts which was responsible for a number of BattleBots IQ teams and robots, as well as robots for other seasons of BattleBots.

The team are most well known within BattleBots for their heavyweight robot Reactore, which dealt significant damage in a rumble to Chinkilla despite not performing well in the main competition.

Captained by teacher Mike Bastoni, the team produced mainly middleweights, but found little success. The team had moved from FRC to BattleBots IQ, being among the most notable teams to do so. The team would compete until 2009, hosting an offseason competition for Battlebots IQ called Rumble at the Rock.[1][2][3]

During the formulation of BattleBots IQ, captain Mike Bastoni would consult with organizer Nola Garcia in order to create the robotics curriculum associated with BattleBots IQ.[4]

The team would come out of BattleBots hiatus to apply for World Championship II and would be accepted as an alternate with Over Easy, however would drop out over legal issues with age.[5]

Outside BattleBots[]

Plymouth North High School is a public high school opened in 1963 as Plymouth-Carver Regional High School. Their robotics team formed in 1995, partnering with the nearby Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, to form the FIRST Robotics FRC Team 23. The team would be inducted into the FRC Hall of Fame with their 1998 win of the prestigious Chairman's Award.

At the same competition, lead mentor Mike Bastoni was honored with the Woodie Flowers Award. The team would leave FRC the following year, returning in 2012 and again in 2018 before closing after the 2020 season due to the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station being closed the previous year, thus losing their primary sponsor.[6]

Despite their 2016 rejection from BattleBots, Over Easy would compete in that year's RoboGames competition. Over Easy won two of their four total fights, beating Dagger and Vlad the Impaler II but lost out to Prometheus and Ragin Scotsman.
