Playbot was a middleweight robot built by Team Playbot which competed in the first BattleBots IQ competition in 2002.

It was a black, two wheeled, invertible wedge shaped robot with no active weapons, and a spray paint flame paint-job, as well as a set of ramming spikes at the rear. Playbot did not win a competitive fight during its only competition, losing out to Gatorbot and Botsy. It would redeem itself somewhat, however, ending on the winning side of a 4v4 East vs. West grudge match at the end of the competition and picking up its only win.

Playbot would not compete again in any BattleBots events.

Playbot vs. Gatorbot Having received a bye through the opening round, Playbot first faced Gatorbot in Round 2. The fight began with both robots driving underneath the pulverizer, which resulted in the pair becoming simultaneously immobilized almost immediately. "Both robots meandered under their opponents hammers and both were simultaneously pummeled... a mutual suicide of sorts." — Chiefdelphi user K2unit, advisor to Team Ramtech 59, recalls the "amusing" match Gatorbot was deemed to have been mobile for slightly longer, so was declared the winner of the battle.
Playbot vs. Botsy Playbot fell into the loser's bracket as a result of its loss, and fought Botsy. Playbot lost this battle as well, however, and was eliminated from the competition as a result.
Playbot, FLIP, Joan of Arc & Checkmate vs. Bulldog Warrior, Tetanus, Plow King & Scorpion PlayBot finishes the rumble still active, and emerges part of the winning team. Playbot's final fight came in the form of an East vs. West team battle. Representing the East, it was accompanied by Joan of Arc, Checkmate and FLIP. Although details on this grudge match are limited, the eastern team were deemed victorious.
