Not to be confused with the team behind Aegis known as Phalanx Robotics.
Phalanx was a heavyweight robot built by Cooper Union which attended Season 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.
It was a six-legged walkerbot armed with no known form of weaponry. Phalanx was built by Brian Cusack, a student at Cooper Union for his senior thesis. Unfortunately, Phalanx suffered mechanical issues and had to forfeit its only match to Sledge-Jammer.
Cusack would later return to Cooper Union as a faculty member and encourage his students to also pursue robotics competitions by hosting antweight sumo tournaments.[1]

Phalanx vs. Sledge-Jammer (Forfeit) Phalanx’s first match had it set up to fight Sledge-Jammer, but before the match could begin Phalanx had mechanical troubles and had to drop out of the competition. Thus Sledge-Jammer won the match by forfeit. |
