Paydar was a robot that competed in the superheavyweight division Season 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.
It was built by thirteen college seniors from IUPUI over the course of one school semester. It was armed with ramming spikes and a front wedge. Paydar had a unique steering system, using two rear wheels for drive and a third, center wheel for steering. A similarly designed pod would be used later by Triple Crown. It lost its only match during the season. A middleweight robot was designed and built by the same team for an anticipated Season 6.0.[1] However, the details of this design are unknown and the show was cancelled before it could compete.

Paydar's only fight in BattleBots was against Menace. Paydar tried to ram into Menace before it could spin up, but only hit the wall after missing its opponent, bending the wedge so that the steering wheel could not hit the ground. Paydar then flailed around the arena, impaling itself on the spike strip and losing some of its own spikes. Paydar was rendered unable to move on the spike strip, tires smoking, and the robot was counted out.

Outside BattleBots[]
After BattleBots ended, Paydar competed in Mechwars 6, where it also had no success, losing 4 straight fights and finishing last out of 5 Superheavyweight robots in the competition. It was retired afterwards.
