Patton was a superheavyweight robot built by Team Patton which competed in Seasons 4.0 and 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.

It was originally a four-wheel drive robot with a T6 aluminum frame armored in a 160lb cast-iron bathtub painted army green, but this proved susceptible to damage. For weaponry, Patton featured a pneumatic spike for a weapon powered by a CO² tank. Sponsors adorned its top and a US flag was attached to its back end. Despite damaging its opponent, Patton lost its first and only battle in the season to The Dude.

Returning for Season 5.0, Patton was rebuilt. It was now blue in color with a ¼" steel plate classis with 1" square tubing surrounding it, armored in ½" Lexan sheets. Patton's primary weapon was largely the same, but powered now by a MAC valve with 8lbs of CO² on board. Among its other changes were 36v drive motors, foam-filled Harbor Freight wheels and new batteries. However, Patton lost its first battle again, this time to Final Destiny.

The team behind Patton also built a lightweight called Gig'em Bot.

Robot History

Season 4.0
Patton vs. The Dude Patton's first and only fight in Season 4.0 was against The Dude. The Dude's front spinner's died after Patton's first ram. Patton prodded The Dude with his pneumatic spike. Then, The Dude's spinners restarted and got a few good hits, breaking a big chuck out of Patton's tough cast iron shell. The spinners died again as the match ended though, and Patton pushed The Dude some more. It came down to a 30-15 decision in favor of The Dude, with damage being the deciding factor. " I feel that he had more damage than we did. We had a piece of our armor break off, but the mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics were all functioning properly. "The Dude" had his frame cracked, a few holes through his Lexan, and three out of the four weapon motors were non-operational." — Patton's builder explaining the damage dealt to both robots following the match
Season 5.0
Patton vs. Final Destiny Final Destiny hits Patton, knocking both robots into the air. Patton gets its polycarbonate armor sheared off by Final Destiny. Patton after its fight against Final Destiny. In Patton's only Season 5.0 fight, it fought Final Destiny. Luckily for Patton, Final Destiny's blade was only just high enough to hit the top of Patton. Despite this, Patton still suffered major damage to the Lexan armor as well as the metal frame. Still, Patton managed to survive long enough to make the 3 minute distance, with the judges' scores adding up to 37-8 in favor of Final Destiny.
