Not to be confused with the lightweight which competed in Season 3.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.
Parallax was a British-American heavyweight robot built by Aberrant Robotics which competed exclusively in BattleBots World Championship III.
The robot was a four-wheel drive, invertible and trapezoid in shape, leading to pre-season comparisons to classic era middleweight Bad Attitude, though the two are unrelated. It boasted a powerful drive system and spinning drum weapon, but failed to perform inside the BattleBox. This was in part due to Parallax being held up in customs as it was transported to the filming location failing to secure a win in both of its fights. As a result of this, Parallax became the first main tournament bot since the Comedy Central era of the show to have all of its matches go untelevised. Parallax was initially accepted as an alternate, however was promoted to the main competition[2].
Following the 2018 competition, Aberrant Robotics captain Luke Bittenbinder recruited new team members alongside J.T. Atkinson and Sam Mills, notably driver Brandon Zalinsky, and entered future seasons of the show with P1. Though the bots were very different in design and appearance, both were entered under the Aberrant Robotics team name. In 2022, Zalinsky retired P1 in favor of forming Omega Team, who debuted RIPperoni and Starchild into World Championship VII. He captained the latter, while former Uppercut team member Anna Zolnikov captained RIPperoni.
Outside BattleBots[]
Outside of BattleBots, Parallax fought in a 2018 Extreme Robots event in Portsmouth, England. It fought and earned a KO win over a full-body spinner called Cyclone 360, showing none of the technical issues it suffered during BattleBots. It then fought veteran competitor Thor, pitting the axebot to win again.[3] Parallax also took on horizontal crusher Kan-Opener, though the winner of this battle is unspecified.[4]
It was later displayed in the United Kingdom, though Parallax's current condition is unknown.

- Parallax was the first robot in BattleBots history to have a dual nationality, with members hailing from the UK and the US.
- Parallax was the first robot in the reboot era to not have a single televised fight despite competing in a battle. This unfortunate feat was also achieved by Daisy Cutter and BattleSaw.
