OverKill was one of six BattleBots competitors released as part of the Metal Mechanics line of construction kits released by Jakks Pacific in 2001.

The kit was based on the Season 2.0 build of Christian Carlberg's heavyweight robot, evident by the placement of its sponsorship logos which are included on this release. However, whereas the wedge of OverKill should be black, it is instead a bare metal color with the sponsor decals instead having a black background. The completed robot utilises two brushed motors, as well as a gear and O-ring mechanism which allows OverKill's iconic knife to chop repeatedly once two AA batteries have been inserted. This can be activated by a switch positioned on the robot's underside. The toy also features two large drive wheels consisting of plastic hubs and rubber tires with tread patterns accurate to its real-life counterpart. The knife itself is made of plastic, and features the same serrated edge and weight-saving holes as seen on the actual robot.

As was the case with other Metal Mechanics sets, this comes with a screwdriver/wrench tool known as 'Techno-tools' as well as screws, stickers and a detailed instructions sheet. The kit was originally available to buy for $16.00 on the BattleBots website, as well as being stocked in various department stores.
