Optimus Prime was a middleweight robot built by Olathe Northwest High School known as Team Raven Rampage which competed in BotsIQ 2008 in the High School division.
Optimus was armed with two drums with three Delrin teeth on each. On the back was a long wedge with the Optimus Prime's face painted on the back, giving it it's name. The team's YouTube channel refers to the robot as Raven's Revenge, likely named after the school's mascot. This naming discrepancy is not clear at this time.

Despite its poor performance in competition, Optimus Prime was able to win Best Documentation at BotsIQ 2008.
Olathe Northwest High School also entered Spatha into the 2008 BotsIQ event. They would later also Shrapnel and Diesel after previously entering Huey, The Chupacabra, PacBot, Gnarkill, and Vexation.

Optimus Prime vs. Chewbotta Optimus Prime's first match of the tournament was against Chewbotta. The two robots hit each other's drums head on and the Delrin teeth of Optimus Prime shattered. This destablilized Optimus Prime which mean it could not drive with its weapon running. The vibrations from this dislodged something inside Optimus Prime and knocked it out.[1] |
Optimus Prime vs. Ambika Optimus Prime's second match was against Ambika. This match consisted of mostly pushing back and forth with Optimus Prime unable to land any meaning hits and eventually having its weapon break down. Ambika was able to win the fight on a judge's decision, eliminating Optimus Prime from the coemption.[2] |
