Ogre was a superheavyweight robot that competed in the final three seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots. Its original design was a box with spikes. The original design weighed 342 lbs., 17lbs. overweight, but was reduced after the team made changes to the batteries.[1] Ogre was redesigned for Season 4.0 to be a lower robot armed with lifting spikes. Ogre had great pushing power and won most of its matches with it.

Ogre vs. Flailbot Ogre's first ever match in BattleBots was against Flailbot in the final preliminary round. Ogre dominated the match with its pushing power and managed to make a hole in the arena Lexan with one of its spikes. Both robots were still moving in the end and Ogre won the match on a 30-15 judges' decision. This win put Ogre into the TV rounds, where it faced Hoobot. |
Ogre vs. Hoobot Once again, Ogre dominated the fight, but Hoobot was able to lift Ogre once. Hoobot got impaled on the spikestrip at one point, but Ogre rammed it free. In the end, Ogre won the fight on a 34-11 judges' decision and advanced to the Round of 16, where it faced the former superheavyweight champion Minion. |
Ogre vs. Minion At the beginning of the match, both bots drove out and Minion hits Ogre with its disc. After another hit with the disk, Ogre gets an upper hand and it pushed Minion around the BattleBox for a short time. Minion hit Ogre with the disk another time, this hit damaging the "Slam Cam" inside Ogre. Smoke began coming out of Minion due to the weapon belt's friction against the motor. Ogre tried to push Minion into the pulverizer, but couldn't. Ogre rammed Minion's weapon, and took another hit from the disc. The two robots pushed each other and tried to out-drive one another. Ogre pushed Minion onto the ramrods, but also took a hit from them. Ogre then was driven onto the hellraisers, but was able to free itself. Ogre was pushed towards the pulverizer, but gained traction and pushed back, and saved itself from the hazard. Ogre then got wedged by Minion, before wedging one of its spikes into Minion's wheel guards. Ogre took this advantage to ram Minion into the screws. The two robots ended the fight stuck together with Minion impaled on the spikestrip. However, the judges decided on a close 23-22 split decision for Minion, knocking Ogre out of the tournament. |
Superheavyweight Royal Rumble Ogre wasn't done, however, as it participated in the Superheavyweight Royal Rumble at the end of the tournament. It got shoved into the corner by Odin II but escapes. It then started shoving The Judge a bit until Diesector assaulted it. It then almost gets flipped by Toro two times. Then it got pushed into an immobile Techno Destructo by Electric Lunch. Next it started pushing The Judge more before switching to Atomic Wedgie. It continued to do rather well up until it rammed the already flipped Odin II a couple times and it got stuck underneath Odin II's chassis and was left there for the rest of the rumble. Ogre eventually lost out to Toro. |
Season 4.0[] |
Ogre vs. Janus Despite reaching the Round of 16 in Season 3.0, Ogre had to go through the qualifiers again in Season 4.0. However, due to lack of participants, Ogre received a bye in the final preliminary round. Because of this, Ogre was already back in the TV rounds, where it faced Janus. This was mostly a pushing match and at one point, Janus pushed Ogre under the pulverizer. After this, the time ran out and Ogre won the fight on a close 24-21 judges' decision. This win put Ogre to the Round of 32, where it faced Atomic Wedgie. |
Ogre vs. Atomic Wedgie In the beginning of the match, both robots collided into each other in the center of the BattleBox. Atomic Wedgie turns around and scratches the side of Ogre with its spinning disc. Ogre tries to get under Atomic Wedgie with its lifting spikes, but every time it tries, the spikes don't slide under, instead bending downward on the hinge and raising Ogre's front wheels into the air. A couple more hits from Atomic Wedgie's spinning disk deflect off the piece of metal protecting Ogre's tires. After this, Ogre was still trying to get underneath Atomic Wedgie with its lifting spike. After this, Atomic Wedgie was having steering problems and Ogre pushed Atomic Wedgie under the pulverizer multiple times. After this, the time ran out and Ogre won the fight on a 37-8 judges' decision. This win put Ogre to the Round of 16, where it faced Techno Destructo. |
Ogre vs. Techno Destructo When the match began, the two bots circled around and Ogre got slammed on the side, managing to avoid getting flipped. Ogre then rode right up Techno Destructo's side before getting pushed into the killsaws and popped upwards by the flipper as Techno Destructo also got hit by the killsaws. Ogre then turned around and charged straight into Techno Destructo, getting flipped backwards in the process. Ogre then turned and got into a pushing match with Techno Destructo, getting pushed into the killsaws in the process. After backing away, Ogre turned and struck a floor seam with its lifter before shoving Techno Destructo above the killsaw slot with its rear end to the side. Ogre then maneuvered next to the killsaws and baited Techno Destructo into lining up for a flip from the side, leading to the latter taking a direct shot underneath from the killsaws before it could seize the opportunity. After maneuvering away, Ogre clashed head-to-head right under the flipping arm of Techno Destructo, where they engaged in a pushing battle that eventually concluded with Ogre pushing Techno Destructo under the pulverizer for a few hammer blows, one of which landing on and disabling Techno Destructo's right wheel. However, this move caused the drive chain on Ogre's left side to jump, jamming and disabling the entire left side and leaving it in a vulnerable position close to the pulverizer. Ogre was approached by Techno Destructo, which got under from the side and tried to flip, but Ogre got jammed in between the flipping arm and Techno Destructo's wedge. Ogre was let down, only to get tossed again directly under the pulverizer for a singular blow before immediately escaping. While trying to move away as Techno Destructo approached, Ogre mistakenly drove under the pulverizer and took a shot to the rear before moving away. Ogre suddenly stopped moving, giving Techno Destructo the opportunity to flip it, which was immediately squandered when the latter misfired and took a shot from the killsaws. Ogre, still suffering from drive issues, got popped upwards twice by Techno Destructo and taken to the pulverizer, where it was pinned and repeatedly beaten before it slowly escaped. Unable to move away from the screws, the crippled Ogre got popped twice by Techno Destructo, the second one placing it on top of the screws before it slipped off. Not long after, Ogre stopped moving near the corner. As there was just less than 30 seconds on the clock, however, Ogre could not be counted out in time, and the match made the distance. Techno Destructo won the fight on a 33-12 judges' decision and Ogre was eliminated from the tournament again.

Season 5.0[] |
Ogre vs. TriMangle Due to previously competing in Season 4.0, Ogre was allowed to skip the preliminary rounds of Season 5.0, where it eventually fought TriMangle. Ogre won the fight by KO and advanced to the Round of 16, where it faced New Cruelty. |
Ogre vs. New Cruelty When the match began, both bots charged at one another and engaged in a pushing battle before Ogre relented and New Cruelty struck the killsaw cover. Ogre then turned and charged straight into the spikestrip before backing into New Cruelty, where it got shoved into the spikestrip repeatedly before adjusting in the last shove and pushing New Cruelty from the side for a pulverizer shot. Afterwards, Ogre turned to engage with New Cruelty, but it soon charged into the spikestrip again, where it nearly got struck by the pulverizer. Ogre then clashed head on with New Cruelty at an angle and started attempting to hook the left front spike on New Cruelty's right wheel. Ogre then charged again, this time attempting to hook with New Cruelty's left wheel. Ogre then started maneuvering around and swung into the wedge with its lifting spikes before swinging again and hooking its right front spike on New Cruelty's wedge. the pushing match came to a standstill until Ogre backed off. The two bots continued to maneuver around until Ogre took a shove to the right side and drove right into the screws. After backing off, Ogre charged head on with New Cruelty, where its lifting spikes bent downwards and propped Ogre partially over New Cruelty. The two bots battled for position, and New Cruelty tried to push Ogre into the killsaws, but missed, giving Ogre the opportunity to push from the side. In the process, Ogre ran into the corner of the spikestrip and got its lifting spikes stuck, and it was nearly hit by the pulverizer before it managed to free itself. Ogre then backed away and retreated, shoving New Cruelty aside with its rear end to buy time. Ogre then turned around and clashed head-to-head, before running into the pulverizer for a blow to the top. After backing away, Ogre continued its battle for position until it clashed with New Cruelty's plow with its right front spike. This time, though, Ogre was the one being pushed from the side, and it was taken to the killsaws. Ogre backed away before clashing head-to-head, but it got shoved into the killsaws again. After retreating, Ogre clashed with New Cruelty from an angle and got its left front corner hooked with one of New Cruelty's left tire rims, allowing it to push the wedgebot a good distance across the box before New Cruelty eventually got free, and Ogre got under briefly from the side. After New Cruelty tried to shove it from the side, Ogre slammed its rear straight into New Cruelty's plow, where they started engaging in a pushing match. This time, Ogre was able to hold its own and keep New Cruelty from gaining any meaningful leverage before separating. After maneuvering around, Ogre collided head-to-head on an angle yet again, this time propping itself sideways on top of the plow and rolling off. After maneuvering some more, Ogre tried its luck using its rear end to engage in another pushing battle, before relenting to turn and avoid the pulverizer in front of it. As the battle for position continued, Ogre took a shot from the killsaws and retreated to the center of the arena, where it started getting shoved from the side before slipping away. Ogre then clashed head-to-head again, this time failing to prop itself and instead almost get taken to the killsaws. Ogre then retreated and baited New Cruelty into shoving it by the side, where Ogre immediately slipped away and started probing the side, eventually hooking its left front corner on New Cruelty's left front tire rim and once again pushing New Cruelty a good distance around the box before separating. Ogre then turned and backed near a corner, where it charged for another head-to-head collision that saw it prop itself on top right of New Cruelty and rolling past. Afterwards, Ogre collided with New Cruelty from an angle, trying to use its left front spike to penetrate New Cruelty's wedge. It didn't work, however, and the two engaged in one last pushing battle before the time ran out. Despite Ogre's valiant efforts in keeping New Cruelty from taking control of the fight, New Cruelty won the fight on a 28-17 judges' decision and Ogre was eliminated from the tournament once again.
