Nightmare was one of four BattleBots competitors to be chosen by HEXBUG for the planned second wave of their Push Strike line of toys.
Though showcased at the New York Toy Fair event in 2017 and intended to be released later that year, it and the other toys in that wave were cancelled and only prototypes remain.[1]
As with other toys planned for the second wave of Push Strike toys, it is based on the World Championship II version of Nightmare, evidenced by its more modest wheel protection as seen in 2016.
Its iconic spinning disc is replicated on the toy and spins as the toy moves backwards and forwards, thanks to the blade connecting to the rear drive wheel via an O-ring, which on the real Nightmare was simply a castor wheel. Unlike other competitors whose Push Strike toys were cancelled, Nightmare did not receive any further merchandise following the real-life robot's competitive retirement.
