Nasty Overbite was a heavyweight robot built by Team Jawbreaker which competed in Season 3.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.
It was a large, invertible robot armed with a pair of hydraulic jaws which could grab an opponent and crush with an alleged 1,000lbs of force.[1] Originally designed for the TLC show Robotica, its snapping jaw design was inspired by the Snapjaw enemy from Donkey Kong series of video games. The frame was made from steel tubing and its teeth were cut from titanium.[1]

The team designed their own hydraulic actuators and had an array of different-sized teeth depending on the shape of their opposition. Nasty Overbite performed decently in competition, winning one battle before losing to B.O.B. in the televised rounds.
Post-competition, the team stated their exposed actuators were their undoing against B.O.B. but stated their intention to return to BattleBots after Season 5.0. Following the show's cancelation, however, this never came to fruition.[1]

In 2024, it was revealed that a brand new build, under its Robotica name Jawbreaker, was listed in the BattleBook - an online database which documented many reboot season applicants and BattleBots Proving Ground hopefuls. Its weapon type was listed as a 'horizontal bar spinner'.
Outside BattleBots[]
Nasty Overbite also competed in the first season of Robotica as Jawbreaker, as well as Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors as General Chompsalot. The team entered a second version into Season 2 of Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors called General Chompsalot 2, which entered Season 3 of Robotica as Jawbreaker's Revenge. The frame of this second version remains in the possession of the team.[2]

- Nasty Overbite's name was recommended by John Hoffman, who fought in Robotica with Buzz Bomb and would compete as part Team Blaze.
