Nasty was a superheavyweight robot built by Team Coolrobots which was built and dismantled prior to Long Beach 1999 BattleBots event.
It was an unarmored steel frame with a 50" rip saw bolted to the top of it. Carlberg was able to reuse all the electronics he used previously in Little Slice of Hell. The robot could not move around too much but was able to spin around very fast which was Carlberg's goal with the design. Nasty weighed 240lbs. which would've made it a superheavyweight. However, Long Beach 1999 event did not include superheavyweights so Nasty would've had to be lightened if it was to compete.[1]
In the end, Carlberg decided to disassemble Nasty before the event happened. This decision was made because Carlberg did not believe it would be competitive, and would struggle to shed weight on the robot in time.
Carlberg still brought the sawblade to the event, and Nasty was still featured on the BattleBots website as a Gigabot.[2] The electronics used in Nasty would be transferred to Little Slice.
