Mr. Bonestripper was a heavyweight robot built by Team Wetware which entered the Long Beach and Las Vegas 1999 competitions, as well as four seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots.
The robot originally had two bladed car tire hubs which spun to try and cause damage to its opponents. Ahead of Season 4.0, Mr. Bonestripper was redesigned around the team's superheavyweight, Abbatoir, and instead featured a spinning overhead bar. It was planned to compete at Season 3.0, but unfortunately missed its safety check and thus could not compete.[1] Mr. Bonestripper only won one battle in its entire career, which was in Season 5.0.
Mr. Bonestripper forfeited no fewer than five competitions across its career, a feat which was extended by the team in more recent years as they intended to enter Clockwork L'Orange into the 2016 season on ABC, but turned up to filming with an incomplete robot.
Mr. Bonestripper is Team Wetware's most successful BattleBots entry, as all others are winless, mainly due to having to forfeit battles.
Outside BattleBots[]
Mr. Bonestripper competed at the 2002 Lazy Toad Robot Club event held by Team Toad after BattleBots as ShieldBreaker. In keeping with its career to date, Team Wetware lost their first fight to Tornado Mer before having to forfeit their second battle.
