Mongus was a middleweight robot built by Team LungFish which competed in Seasons 4.0 and 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots.
It was a blue and white box-shaped robot which used legs as both locomotion and as hammers. Despite its limited mobility and lack of damaging weaponry, it managed to win a single battle in Season 4.0 against Turbo, though lost its only other career fights.
Team LungFish also entered heavyweight Chomp (unrelated to The Machine Corps' robot of the same name) and lightweight build Spwack, and entered more successful bot Double Dutch in the reboot seasons.

Mongus vs. Turbo Mongus first went up against Turbo in the preliminary rounds. Mongus was having a hard time maneuvering, never making it far from its square. Its flailing 'legs' were ineffective in helping it traverse the BattleBox. Turbo had control problems of its own and was unable to move. Turbo was counted out and Mongus advanced, despite the two robots never making contact with one another. |
Mongus vs. Pokey Mongus moved on to fight Pokey. Pokey drove Mongus all over the place, as it helplessly turned itself over and pounded the floor with it flailing legs. Mongus managed to hook onto Pokey, but Pokey ran Mongus up against the spikes and pushed it a few times. Mongus seemed almost totally unable to control its movements, and lost on a 29-16 judges' decision. |
