Mobster was a middleweight robot built by Team MagBots that competed in the final three seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots. It was a square shaped robot armed with a static spike in the rear (later at the front in Season 5.0) and two wedges in the front in Season 4.0. It didn't perform well in the competition as it lost all three of its matches.
Robot History[]
Season 3.0[]
Mobster's first ever match was against Thwak. In the beginning of the match, Mobster's side panel was sent flying by Thwak's spinning bar. While this was happening, the crowd was cheering at the destruction. After another hit from Thwak's spinning bar, Mobster stopped moving due to an internal wiring coming off. Mobster was now being counted out and Thwak won by KO in 42 seconds. This meant that Mobster was eliminated from the tournament.
Mobster in The Pits of Season 4.0
Season 4.0[]
Mobster's only match in Season 4.0 was against Strange Brew. Mobster put a hole in Strange Brew, coming very close to its CO2 bottle. Strange Brew got in a good ram on Mobster, and followed it up with pushing. There was some circling and pushing and then Strange Brew impaled itself on Mobster's rear spike. The bots were stuck together and had to be separated. Strange Brew tried a spin-in place move, and got one little hit, but then it went back to circle and push. Eventually Mobster got high-centered on the exit ramp. Mobster was being counted out and Strange Brew won by KO at 1:53. This meant that Mobster was eliminated from the tournament again.
Season 5.0[]
Mobster's only match in Season 5.0 was against Misty the WonderBot. Mobster got high centered on the exit ramp and was immobile due to its wheels unable to touch the arena floor. As this was happening, Mobster was being counted out and Misty the WonderBot won by KO. This meant that Mobster was eliminated from the tournament once again.
After Season 5.0[]
The team was considered competing in the Robot Fighting League in 2004 and 2005 but they never competed again.
