Not to be confused with the similarly named World Championship IV competitor, Marvin.

Marvinator was a middleweight robot built by Team Mean n' Green, an all-female team which competed at BattleBots IQ 2005 and 2006.

It was a green, octagonal-shaped shell spinner painted green with its name adorning sections of its custom-built shell which was welded by the team. Marvinator also sported custom batteries. Despite a disappointing showing in its debut competition, Marvinator ultimately won second place overall at the 2006 event, losing out to E2V2 in the final.

Team member Andrea Suarez would go on to captain Witch Doctor a decade later, during the televised reboot of BattleBots on ABC and Discovery. She was briefly joined by Team Mean n' Green's Carolina de Freitas during the 2016 competition.

Marvinator took on Chief in the loser's bracket.[1] In a largely uneventful fight, Marvinator kept spinning and made sporadic contact as its opponent evaded the spinning shell and did not mount an attack in response. Marvinator ultimately won by judges' decision as the all-female team picked up their first win.

Marvinator vs. Dark Angel

Marvinator next fought Dark Angel, picking up a second win to advance.

In its next battle, Marvinator took on Gator, winning to remain in the bracket.

Marvinator and Excellerator square off.

Returning for the 2006 event, one of Marvinator's only known opponents was Excellerator 3.[2] The two robots made contact early on as sparks flew, and Excellerator 3's drive appeared to be slowing with every hit. Excellerator 3 eventually stopped moving completely and Marvinator was declared the winner by knockout.

Marvinator vs. E2V2

Marvinator was able to advance all the way through to the final, where it fought E2V2. Marvinator lost this battle, and settled for a second place finish.
