Major Punishment was a middleweight robot built by Team Humphrey which competed in Season 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots. It was a rectangular robot armed with a chain flail hammer. It didn't perform well in competition, losing its first match.
Major Punishment returned to the BattleBots NPC Charity Open 2004, and won one match.
Robot History[]
Season 5.0[]
Major Punishment's first and only match was against Bit Schlapp. After Major Punishment got hit by Bit Schlapp, Bit Schlapp won the match and Major Punishment was eliminated from the tournament.
2004 NPC Charity Open[]
Major Punishment's first match was against Icewave. When the match began, Icewave spun up its weapon and made a few small contacts with Major Punishment before its own blade tore off one of the rubber shock absorbers inside the engine. As a result, Icewave became unstable, tearing its entire engine apart and flinging it across the arena. Major Punishment won by KO and advanced to next round, where it faced SABotage.
Both robots drove around each other before Major Punishment managed to send something flying off SABotage. SABotage then clamped down on the front of Major Punishment, pushing it under the pulverizer. After a while, SABotage managed to lift Major Punishment and push it against the arena wall, only for Major Punishment to fall down. Both robots drove around each other for a while before SABotage managed to lift Major Punishment again. The two drove around for a while again before SABotage got Major Punishment from behind and lifted it up. The time ran out and SABotage won on a judges' decision. This put Major Punishment into the losers bracket where it faced Papercut.
The two approached each other rather cautiously, with Papercut looking the most fearful. Major Punishment came centimeters close to Papercut's blade, but it somehow wasn't hit. Papercut eventually did strike, hitting Major Punishment four times, with the last hit seeming to have cut-off Major Punishment's power as it wasn't mobile anymore. Papercut won by KO and Major Punishment was eliminated from the tournament again.
