As BattleBots moved to Discovery ahead of World Championship III, the Fight Night format was introduced. The final battle of each fight card, often the most highly-anticipated and well-hyped, is known as the Main Event and has been a staple of BattleBots episodes since the 2018 season.
Main Events are typically not set in stone until fights actually happen, with known examples of fights pitched as Main Events being demoted if they were underwhelming or if the narratives surrounding the fight were not befitting of a Main Event in the eyes of production. This was notably the case in the World Championship VII battle between Skorpios and Ribbot, as revealed in a Skorpios Builder Blog episode.[1]
Beginning in World Championship VI, Main Events were formally announced by Faruq Tauheed with a sequence of sparks and smoke from within the BattleBox. Throughout this season, limited edition clothing merchandise was produced to promote Main Event clashes in the following episode. T-shirts were often advertised, available in various colors and in men's and women's styles, though hoodies and tank tops could also be purchased.
List of Main Events[]
NOTE: Episode 11 of World Championship III and Episode 8 of World Championship IV had no Main Event as they were dedicated to the Desperado Tournaments. Episode 15 of World Championship III had no Main Event as it was the USA vs. The World special. Likewise, Episode 17 of the same season was dedicated to play-ins, with the last of these being the Last Chance Rumble.
International airings of BattleBots episodes often cut Fight Night cards in half to fit a different channel's schedule, often resulting in the midway fight becoming another Main Event. These are not included in official results, thus are omitted from this page.
