Not to be confused with the Season 5.0 competitor of the same name.
MaXimum Impact was a 15lb robot built by Team Excessive Force of Bloomsburg Area High School which competed in numerous BattleBots IQ competitions.
It was a four-wheel drive robot armored in a mix of titanium, aluminum and Lexan. MaXimum Impact sported a 3" wide drum spinner powered by a Faigao brushless motor, as well as a titanium wedge at the rear.[1] Competing in the Mini Class, MaXimum Impact finished runner-up in 2005, losing only to the Ewert family and Falcon15. Team Excessive Force would not leave trophyless, however, as they picked up the Best Engineered Award for the event.
The team returned a year later and went one better, winning the BattleBots IQ 2006 15lb division outright as well as the Coolest Robot Award.
MaXimum Impact is also known to have fought in the 2007 event, where it once again reached the final, beating Rugburn Reloaded after losing to it earlier in the tournament.

---|---|
MaXimum Impact vs. X-Contamination MaXimum Impact debuted in BattleBots IQ 2005 where it advanced to the final. However, its road to the title decider is unknown, shy of a loss to X-Contamination.[2] | |
MaXimum Impact vs. Falcon15 In the final, MaXimum Impact took on Falcon15. It lost this battle, and finished runner-up in its first competition. | |
BattleBots IQ 2006[] | |
MaXimum Impact vs. Beast from the East Returning in 2006, MaXimum Impact first fought Beast from the East. Getting its drum up to speed, MaXimum Impact was able to fling its opponent through the air several times. Beast from the East eventually landed inverted and immobile as MaXimum Impact picked up a win by knockout. | |
MaXimum Impact vs. Bulldozer In the second round, MaXimum Impact met Bulldozer. MaXimum Impact immediately got around to Bulldozer's side, upending the larger robot and flipping it over with its drum spinner. Bulldozer could not right itself or drive inverted, so MaXimum Impact took the win by KO. | |
MaXimum Impact vs. Inspector Cleuseau MaXimum Impact faced Inspector Cleuseau. After its opponent showed its back to MaXimum Impact, the drum spinner coerced Inspector Cleuseau into the corner. Two hits followed which immobilized Inspector Cleuseau, allowing MaXimum Impact to advance again by knockout. | |
MaXimum Impact vs. Tornado Next up for MaXimum Impact was Tornado, who was armed with a vertical spinner. MaXimum Impact was fastest out of its starting area, however, as Tornado took a more cautious approach. The former runner-up met Tornado head-on, chewing at its front armor and then showing its rear to MaXimum Impact. This proved a fatal error as MaXimum Impact pressed Tornado disk-first against the wall before flinging it across the arena. Tornado landed upside-down and was immobile, sealing another knockout win for MaXimum Impact. | |
MaXimum Impact vs. Bob MaXimum Impact now took on Bob - a four-sided wedge. Bob proved relatively nimble, attempting to push MaXimum Impact and negating the drum spinner in the opening seconds. However, the drum caught the underside of Bob, launching it across the arena where it fell against the wall. With its drive wheels off the ground, MaXimum Impact dealt one final hit which freed its opponent. Bob was declared immobile and MaXimum Impact advanced with yet another knockout win. | |
MaXimum Impact vs. X-Contamination The next opponent for MaXimum Impact was Ransom Everglades Robotics and X-Contamination in a rematch from the previous year's event. X-Contamination won the last outing, but MaXimum Impact was able to get underneath its opponent this time and largely escaped the spatula flipper of X-Contamination. The Miami robot was able to get underneath but mistimed several attacks, allowing MaXimum Impact to attack its underbelly instead and push it around the arena. As damage began to rack up on X-Contamination's hinged skirts, it nearly lifted MaXimum Impact over but was then violently overturned, bending its rear skirt back on itself. Righted with the help of MaXimum Impact, X-Contamination was no longer moving and the Pennsylvania team picked up another KO win. | |
MaXimum Impact vs. VerteX MaXimum Impact took on another entry from Bloomsburg Area High School, VerteX, in the final. This time, MaXimum Impact won and confirmed first and second place finishes for the team in 2006. | |
BotsIQ 2007[] | |
MaXimum Impact vs. Rugburn Reloaded As the returning champion, MaXimum Impact competed again in the 2007 event. Its opponents are largely unknown, though it did fight Rugburn Reloaded at some stage of the event. Rugburn Reloaded won this fight, but this was MaXimum Impact's first loss of the competition by knockout. | |
MaXimum Impact vs. Rugburn Reloaded As such, MaXimum Impact fought Rugburn Reloaded again in the finals. This time, however, it managed to win by knockout, thus securing a second successive Mini Class championship for MaXimum Impact and its team. |
