Luke Khanlian is a mechanical design engineer and former BattleBots competitor who has served as chief safety inspector since World Championship IV.
Originally part of Christian Carlberg's Team Coolrobots, Khanlian took control of TriDent during Seasons 4.0 and 5.0, as well as helping out on the team's array of robots in various weight classes. He returned for the 2015 season as "pit boss" for OverDrive, in the team's own words. Away from the team, he also built a robot called Mule for E3's LEGO RoboGladiators in 1999. Having being absent for OverDrive's second BattleBots season in 2016, Luke Khanlian later picked up a role on BattleBots within the safety team, where he remains to this day.

Prior to working for BattleBots, Luke Khanlian worked as a mechanical designer and puppeteer for numerous media productions, including Starship Troopers, Bicentennial Man and The Green Mile.
He has also competed in several non-BattleBots events, including in SOZBOTS competitions with his 1lb robot Complete Ripoff.[2]
