At the end of every BattleBots competition, Awards are given out to recognize teams and robots for a variety of performance and non-performance related reasons.

Giant Nut[]

The Giant Nut is a trophy awarded to the winner of the World Championship tournament.

"Best in Show" Awards[]

Best in Show awards

Beside the Giant Nut, Giant Bolt trophies are awarded to teams at the end of each season. The winners are chosen based on the design of their bots and how they operate regardless of their performance in the tournament.[1]

Best Design[]

Awarded by the BattleBots builders, it goes to the robot that best embodies the combination of top-notch engineering and outstanding design.
Also known as "Grant Imahara Award for Best Design", renamed during World Championship V in memoriam of Grant Imahara, who passed away earlier that year.

Most Destructive Robot Award[]

Awarded by the BattleBots judges and producers, the Most Destructive Robot Award goes to the robot which dished out the most damage across the course of a season.

Founder's Award[]

Awarded by BattleBots co-founders Trey Roski and Greg Munson, the Founder's Award goes to the team that embodies the spirit of BattleBots. It takes into the account the bot, its fights, and the team themselves.

Best Sportsmanship / Excellence in Sportsmanship Award[]

Originally introduced during BattleBots IQ, the Best Sportsmanship Award recognized teams who showed the greatest display of sportsmanship in the pits throughout the competition.

The award was reintroduced for World Championship VII and awarded during BattleBots: Champions II. Renamed the Excellence in Sportsmanship Award, it was instead presented to a specific team member.

A giant bolt trophy awarded to the winner of the Desperado Tournament.

Rookie of the Year Award[]

The Rookie of the Year Award recognizes a robot in its debut season which has built a popular fanbase and had entertaining fights. The winner of the award is voted by the community.[2]

Best Driver / Best Operators Award[]

The Best Driver Award, also known as the Best Operators Award, was presented by the BattleBots builders during the televised seasons, but by event organizers during BattleBots IQ competitions.[3]

Funniest Robot Award[]

The Funniest Robot Award was a one-time award presented to the most comedic robot. It was only presented during the inaugural 1999 Long Beach event.

Best Engineered Award[]

The Best Engineered Award, also called the Best Engineering Award, was an award presented to competitors deemed to be particularly effective and reliable as a result of its design. It was presented during annual BattleBots IQ events.

The Coolest Robot Award was an award presented to the robot deemed the 'coolest' by BattleBots producers.

Most Aggressive Robot Award[]

The Most Aggressive Robot Award was presented to the robot which displayed the most attack-minded approach to BattleBots fights. Introduced for the first ever events in 1999, the award was presented beyond the show's end on Comedy Central and throughout many of the BattleBots IQ competitions as well. Due to incomplete records, the most recent winner is unknown.

A one-time award given during BattleBots IQ 2004, the only recipient of this self-explanatory award was Killa Guerrilla.

Hardest Working Team[]

The Hardest Working Team Award was presented to the team which best persisted through challenges and put the effort into repairs and maintenance during a competition. Only known to have been presented once in 2002.
