Jet Lag is a heavyweight robot built by Rick Russ of Team Swamp Thing, which has featured at numerous BattleBots: Destruct-A-Thon live shows.
It is a two-wheel drive robot armed with an undercutting spinning bar at the front powered by a jet engine. The robot itself heavily resembles one of Rick Russ' former robots, Final Verdict. Jet Lag's involvement in Destruct-A-Thon has been restricted to exhibitions, much like Nightmare taking on various slot machines, and the team announced in June 2022 that Jet Lag would "be demonstrated in front of a live audience".[1] In February 2023, it was revealed that Jet Lag had been in attendance at several of that month's shows. A month later, images surfaced of Jet Lag in the BattleBox for the first time.
Jet Lag's name is a pun on the engine used to power its primary weapon.
Builder Rick Russ is a former Tombstone team member, making up a vital part of the team which won the Giant Nut in World Championship II. He also produced the middleweight turned heavyweight Swamp Thing, and built a revised 250lb version with the intention of competing in World Championship VII.
