Not to be confused with the robot of the same name built by Vegas Combat Robotics which has competed since World Championship V.

Jackpot was a heavyweight robot designed by Joshua Kong of Impulse Ungineering for BattleBots World Championship IV.

It is two wheel drive robot armed with a full body drum spinner similar to Axe Backwards. The body of Jackpot features three discs separated by drum blanks. The entire robot features a slot machine reel theming, similar to those present on JackPot's self-righter.

Jackpot was designed around December of 2018, and scaled up from Joshua Kong's antweight How Can She Slap?! which drew inspiration from Robot Wars competitor Barber-Ous. The theory behind the robot was that the torque of the drum could be used to propel the robot forward. The drum would be powered by spinning both drive motors, which would also make the robot go forwards, with turning being accomplished by applying different amounts of power to each drive motor. Uniquely, Jackpot doesn't make use of stabilizing arms to prevent loss of control as seen on robots such as Axe Backwards and HUGE.

Though Kong claimed Jackpot would have been relatively cheap due to the few amount of parts used, he was unable to work out a sufficient braking solution needed on Jackpot, and would abandon the project. He would express interest in revising the design to use cam-shaped wheels to solve that issue, but no progress has come to fruition on that idea[1][2].

Joshua Kong would later design Project Aegis for World Championship V and Horizon for World Championship VI, but was rejected with both. He would later be accepted as captain of Team Horizon for World Championship VII.
