Hipoponomous was a middleweight robot built by Team Batteraizees which competed in two seasons of Comedy Central BattleBots.

Debuting in Season 3.0, Hipoponomous was originally a tall, wedge-shaped robot armed with a vertically-spinning aluminum disk with a pneumatic lifter. Its first and only battle ended in a loss to Zion.

Hipoponomous was completely rebuilt for Season 5.0. Now a box-shaped, Lexan robot, it was armed with a horizontal spinner. However, there were issues with the disk, so it was exchanged for a small hammer nicknamed the 'beat-down stick' by its team. Hipoponomous defeated Thumper but lost its second round fight to WulfBane.

The team that built Hipoponomous also built a lightweight robot named Paladin, which is the robot which Hipoponomous borrowed its "beat-down stick" from.

Robot History[]

Season 3.0[]
Hipoponomous vs. Zion Hipoponomous catches fire after fighting Zion. Hipoponomous's only fight was against Zion. During the match, Hipoponomous' battery shorted out, leaving Zion to win by KO at the 1:21 mark as Hipoponomous was eliminated.
Season 5.0[]
Hipoponomous vs. Thumper Hipoponomous trying to get itself off of Thumper. Hipoponomous's first fight was against Thumper. Hipoponomous was able to knockout Thumper and move on to the second round.
Hipoponomous vs. WulfBane Hipoponomous is rammed into the spikestrip by WulfBane. Here, it faced WulfBane. However, Hipoponomous' success was short-lived as despite going the distance, it lost by a 19-26 judges decision.
